About AT

The Alexander Technique was developed by an Australian actor Frederick Matthias Alexander (1869 - 1955) over a hundred years ago as a result of solving a voice problem.

It is based on a certain natural relationship between the head, neck and back, conscious and reasoned body awareness, spatial awareness and behavioral awareness, developed so that long-held patterns of movement, posture, breathing and muscular tension can be reassessed. With the Alexander Technique we can become aware and unlearn habitual patterns that have an effect on our health and well being.

During the lessons the principles are learnt through simple activities with the help of the teacher’s hands. The Alexander Technique is suitable for people of all ages and levels of physical fitness.

The Alexander Technique is taught by qualified teachers who have completed a certified three-year full time training program.

Alexander Technique can be used for:

  1. Better balance, poise, breathing and flexibility

  2. Voice and public speaking

  4. Reducing stress and stage fright

  5. Pregnancy and child birth
